Maxi Spindles
Standard Maxi: 3″ diameter whorl on a 10 1/2″ shaft.
“Skinny” Maxi: Same, but with narrower profile.
Weight range: .7–2.0 oz, depending on the wood density.
Our Maxis™ are perfect for beginners or for thicker yarns. They also make excellent plying spindles. Let us know your preference or ask what is in stock when you order.
All our spindles are hand crafted in small batches by Jonathan and our inventory sometimes changes daily.
If you want a spindle right away, we suggest ordering a Maxi with an Orford Cedar shaft or one of our “Ready to Ship” combinations.
Special combinations of standard whorl wood and hardwood shaft, if available, may take up to 4 weeks for production and delivery.

NOTE: Jonathan turns every spindle personally, and special orders have to be fit into the regular production schedule. Therefore, it can take up to 4 weeks for a special combination to be turned and finished before it can be shipped.
